IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS

Idiomatic expressions are the spice of every language, they make it rich, colorful and expressive!!! Here you have some examples:

- A long row to hoe: is a difficult task that takes a long time.

- A picture is worth a thousand words: A picture can often get a message across much better than the best verbal description.

- A pretty penny: If something costs a pretty penny, it is very expensive.

- About as useful as a chocolate teapot: someone or something that is of no practical use.

- After your own heart: is a person that thinks the same as you.

- Mad as a cut snake: someone who is out of control.

- Salad days: are an especially happy period of your life.

At the end one word of warning: Be careful about using the expressions because there is always a literate meaning to it that without nowing the idiomatic meaning doesn't make any sense.
